| 6.1 Introduction 简介 Transport is an important part in international business. Goods are carried by several means of conveyance--by road or rail, by sea or air. And in recent years, combined transport which is a road-sea-rail carriage appeared. When goods are transported by road, rail or air, the contract carriage takes the form of a Consignment Note(托运单) or Air Way Bill (空运提单或航空货运单).In sea transport, chartering of ships or booking shipping space is involved. And the contract entered into between the ship-owner and shipper may take the form of either a Chatter Party(租船契约) or a Bill of Lading(提单). Transport covers rather a wide range of work. In this unit only a few specimen letters pertaining to transport have been selected for preliminary study. It is customary to insure goods sold for export against the perils of the transport. In international trade, the transportation of goods from the seller to the buyer is generally over a long distance by air, land or sea and has to go through the procedures of loading, unloading and storing. During this process it is quite possible that the goods will encounter various kinds of perils and sometimes suffer losses. In order to protect the goods against possible loss in case of such perils, the buyer or seller before the transportation of the goods usually applies to an insurance company for insurance covering the goods in transit. As a large percentage of the trade in and out of our country goes by ship, what mainly concerns us is still the Marine Insurance 6.2 Samples 例文 Letter 1 Transport (1)Shipping Instructions 装船指示 Require to Book a Steamer from an Appointed Transportation Company 要求在指定的运输公司中预定船只 Dear Sirs, Re: Our Order No. 123 We have received your fax of March 2 and noted that you have booked our Order No. 123 for 4 sets of Model 790 Machine.
